Dearly loved husband of Patricia Hurd Weatherbee passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. Age 78 years. James was born on August 1, 1931 in Berkley, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Caliente during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #439. Jim and Pat were married February 7, 1981. She survives him. Jim enjoyed golfing and his family. Upon marrying Patricia, Jim inherited her five adult children who loved and cherished Jim with all their hearts, Michael (Patsy) Hurd, Saginaw; Michelle Hurd (David) Riddick, Saginaw; Tony
(Betsy) Hurd, Saginaw; Joseph (Cindy) Hurd, Jenison; Matthew (Alison) Hurd, Caledon, Ontario; 10 grandchildren, Rachel Anger, Jacob Hurd, Tony, Nick, Dan, Sarah, Kate, Joseph and Emily Hurd; three great-grandchildren, Ella Rose Anger, Graham Anger and Clayton Oosterhouse; two sisters, Helen Fitzpatrick and Ruth Riebel; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Al and Betty Waske and John and Jeanette Snyder; a sister-in-law, Loretta Lucas; many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Rassmussen Weatherbee and his brother, Robert Weatherbee. A celebration of Mr. Weatherbee’s life and Military Service will take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Honoring Mr. Weatherbee’s wishes cremation will follow.
