Watz Sr., William C., Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at St. Mary’s of Michigan following a brief illness.  Age 60 years.  Bill was born June 20, 1949 in Saginaw to the late Richard and Grace (Doyle) Watz.  He graduated from SS Peter & Paul High School in 1967.  He married Dolly (Edna) Alfano on April 20, 1968.  He retired from Advanced Communications Incorporated and was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church.  Bill enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He was an avid sports fan.  Surviving besides his wife are three sons and a daughter, William C. Watz, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Saginaw; Steven Watz and his wife Amy, Wisconsin; Brian Watz and his wife Lesley, Saginaw; Stacey A. Watz, Saginaw; nine grandchildren, Allison and Ashley, Kylie, Anna, Talia, Dominic, and Sofia, Drew and Luke; five brothers and three sisters and their spouses, Dick and Sue Watz, Larry and Vickie Watz, Mike and Barb Watz, Buddy and Julie Watz, Pat Watz and Lisa Ball, Mary Badoux, Peggy and Dave Tattersall, Michelle (Cookie) and Tim Anderson; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Millie Howe, Nick and Carol Alfano, Tom and Maryann Alfano, Jennie Lee and Mike Kowalski, Nina and Gary Hrywnak; many special nieces and nephews and many dear friends.  Bill was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Marilee Watz, and his brother-in-law, Lon Badoux.  Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the W.L. Case & Company Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road.  Rev. John Johnson will officiate.  Friends may call at the chapel from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, where Sr. Elaine Raymond will conduct a vigil service, and from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of service.  Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy may consider the Special Olympics, Area 22, or the charity of their choice.  The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Andrew LaFleur and his staff, Dr. Babu, Dr. Ansari, Dr. Balcueva, and the staffs at 6ICU Harrison (especially Tina) and 6ICU St. Mary’s (especially Laura) for all their personal care.  www.casefuneralhome.com
