Troester, The Honorable Edmund Meagher, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010 at his home. Age 77 years. Edmund M. Troester was born May 29, 1933 in Detroit to the late John William and Marion (Meagher) Troester. He was married to Carol B. Price on June 30, 1998 in Saginaw. She survives him. Edmund graduated from St. Mary High School in 1951 where he was on the second string All Valley Basketball Team. Edmund graduated from the University of Michigan. He obtained his Law Degree from the Detroit College of Law. He was admitted to the State of Michigan Bar in 1963. Ed Troester was elected to serve as Saginaw County Probate Judge in 1982 retiring in 1998. He was a member of the American Bar Association, Saginaw Country Club, Fordney Club, and SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Ed served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later became a member of the American Legion Post #439. Surviving besides his wife, are four daughters: Kathryn (Donald) MacMillan, Maura (Edward) Nunez, Ann (John) Lennon and Meg (Kevin) Murphy; three step-sons: Robert R. Price, Michael C. Price and Jeffrey B. (Shyelle) Price; grandchildren: Jack, Brian, Eleanor, Liam, Thomas, Charlie, Sophia, Blair, Riley and Brooke; two sisters, Margaret (Robert) Beck and Marion (James) Pasek; two brothers, James (Pat) Troester and Dennis Troester; many nieces and nephews. A brother, Rev. Fr. John Troester, preceded Judge Troester in death. A funeral liturgy honoring Ed Troester will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 4735 W. Michigan Ave., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. John R. Johnson will officiate with burial to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State) on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A vigil service will be conducted on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Judge Troester will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
