Swartz, Charles D., Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away suddenly Tuesday, September 7, 2010, in Ludington. Age 67 years. He was born October 22, 1942, in Au Gres, Michigan, the son of the late Daniel and Verlane (Koehn) Swartz. He graduated from GMI with his Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering, and was employed as an engineer by General Motors for 38 years. He was very handy, and enjoyed fixing things for family and friends. He was an avid motorcycle and race car enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling and making his own beer. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Stephanie Swartz, Folsom, California; Ken and Julie Swartz, Commerce Twp., Michigan; two grandchildren, Zack and Joey; his “Sweetheart,” Lou Roka, and her family; his former wife, Susan Swartz; seven sisters, five brothers and their spouses, Carol Raynak, Farol Clark, Nancy and Ed DeGroat, Sally and Dave Suminski, Alice and Bill Lake, Dan Swartz, Rick and Irene Swartz, Steve and Vicki Swartz, Bob Swartz, Frankie Swartz, Kathy and Dan Westerburg, Karen and Jeff Wright; many nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by a brother, Billy Swartz. Funeral services will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, where his family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. Friday until the time of service. Rev. Rob Troutman will officiate.
