Stewart, Ilah Mae, Saginaw, Michigan, Formerly of Hemlock, MI

Beloved mother, grandmother and sister passed away at the home of her daughter on Friday, January 15, 2010. Age 86 years. Ilah Mae Short was born July 4, 1923, in Hemlock, the daughter of the late Nelson and Mabel Ethel (French) Short. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was a woman of great faith and was a prayer warrior. She played piano in area churches in her younger years. She married Robert C. Stewart on January 30, 1942; he predeceased her November 23, 1990. Surviving are one daughter, two sons and their spouses, Marcia (Jeffrey) Weisbarth, Glen (Mary) Stewart, and Paul (Cindy) Stewart, all of Saginaw; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Cregg (fiancée Jaclyn), Cara Mae, Michael, Felicia, Mallorie and Nicholas; one brother, Kenneth Short, Florida; one niece, Patty O’Bannon; one nephew, Kenneth Short Jr. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Rushia Gracey, and a brother, Edward Short. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2010 at Grace Baptist Church, 4619 Mackinaw Road. Pastor John S. Watson will officiate. Private committal will take place later in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and then at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
