Beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 26, 2010, at his home, at the age of 34 years. He was born June 10, 1975 at Saginaw General Hospital. He was the son of Mary (McLellan) and Larry Walraven Jr. and Robert Spradlin, all of whom survive him. Mike graduated from Swan Valley High School in 1993, where he excelled in football and basketball, collecting numerous all-area and all-league honors. He also attended Delta College. Mike was a life-long member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where he also attended elementary school. He had a passion for playing drums in various local bands, enjoyed dirt-biking as a youth, and just liked to have fun! He loved spending time with his nephews, Sam and Ben, and niece, Sophia, and watching them play sports. Surviving are his parents, Mary (McLellan) and Lawrence Walraven Jr., of Saginaw, and Robert Spradlin, of Las Vegas; a brother and his wife, Jim and Linda (Kushner) Spradlin, and their children, Sam, Ben and Sophia Spradlin, all of Saginaw; grandparents, Robert and Delores McLellan, Saginaw; step-grandparents, Lorraine and Lawrence Walraven Sr., Hampton, Township; step-siblings, Kristin (Joachim) Globell, Manhattan, NY, Lawrence Walraven III, Munger, Melinda Walraven, Kalamazoo, William Walraven, Saginaw; aunts and uncles, Bob and Kathy McLellan, Saginaw, Jim McLellan, White Bear Lake, MN, Chris McLellan, Saginaw, Pat (McLellan) and Jackie Smith, Shreveport, LA, Dan and Risha McLellan, Fort Wayne, IN, Linda (Spradlin) Martin, Kissimmee, FL; step-uncle, Greg Walraven, Hampton Township; several cousins and other relatives. Mike was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clarence Spradlin, Newark, OH, and grandmother, Alta Hollen, Columbus, OH. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 4735 W. Michigan Ave. Rev. Fr. John Johnson will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Mike’s family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 409 Adams St., from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Friends and family may then call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
