Beloved mother and nana passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 94 years. The daughter of the late Andrew and Agnes (Barczak) Konieczka, Mary Ann was born July 11, 1916 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Alexander Shabluk on May 25, 1940. He predeceased her April 24, 1977. Mary Ann was a charter member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the League of Catholic Women and the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed playing bingo, walking and watching game shows. Most of all, Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Surviving are three sons, two daughters and their spouses, Robert and Patricia Shabluk, Saginaw; Ronald and Brenda Shabluk, Saginaw; Susan McCulloch, Saginaw; Thomas and Colleen Shabluk, Saginaw; Deborah and James Foy, Canton; 12 grandchildren, Mike (Lisa), Steve (Amy), David (Billie Jo), Jeff (Tina), Bill, Tamara, Ronnie, Jon (Amy), Jim (Amy), Jason, Matt (Lara) and Nick; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was preceded in death by a son-in-law, William McCulloch, three brothers and two sisters, Leo, Dan and Joseph Konieczka, Gert Gamm and Eleonore Slominski. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2010 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James Gannon, O.F.M., will officiate with entombment in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. There will be a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
