Selley, Anita (Rico), Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away January 4, 2010 after battling lung and liver cancer. Age 79 years. Anita Rico was born January 12, 1930, in Saginaw, to Augustin and Conrada (Rodriguez) Rico. Anita graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1948. She married Lawrence Jefferson Selley on May 26, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois. Anita is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lawrence, and by seven children, Debra Acosta, Lansing, MI; Michael (Lesa Zizumbo) Selley, St. Charles, MI; Martin (Olga) Selley, Houston, TX; Carla (Ernest Jr.) Espinoza, Houston, TX; Ellen (Pete Allington) Fulgencio, Saginaw, MI; Laura (Bob) Dise, Clarkston, MI; Teresa (Joey) Rojas, Houston, TX. Anita is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia Ortiz; two brothers, Jesse (Marcie) Rico and George Rico; two sisters-in-law, Chris Rico and Josie Rico; numerous other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, and their families. She also leaves special friends, Dale and Wendy Anderson. Anita was predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen Ann Acosta; one granddaughter, Carisa Angelic Fulgencio; one sister, Josephine Escoto; two brothers, Joe Rico and Valentine Rico. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 915 S. Sixth Ave. Rev. Fr. Daniel Anholzer, O.F.M., Cap. will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 409 Adams St., from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Friends and family may then call at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the American Cancer Society.
