Schoen, Kathryn J., Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Friday, May 14, 2010, age 82 years. Kay was born in Saginaw, Michigan, daughter of the late William C. and Helen (Swantek) Smelley. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. She married William H. Schoen January 11, 1947 and he predeceased her November 28, 2006. Kay enjoyed bowling, golfing and social activities with friends. She was self-employed as Vice-President and Secretary of William Schoen Electric, Inc. for many years, retiring in 1989. Kay is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Debra M. Schoen; a daughter-in-law, Sherry L. Schoen; three granddaughters; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Joan Schoen and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son and daughter-in-law David W. and Molly E. Schoen; a brother-in-law, Thomas W. Schoen; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and Paul Felder. Per her request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2010 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. James Neumann will officiate. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Second Presbyterian Church, Elf Khurafeh Crippled Children’s Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.
