Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. At 72, Don was the oldest of three children born to August and Helen Salwasser (predeceased). He was born on May 17, 1937 in Saginaw, Michigan and has been a resident of the Saginaw area all his life. Don served in the U.S. Army between 1956 and 1961. He was a Painting Contractor, painting and wallpapering area homes and businesses for over 50 years. Throughout his life he served others volunteering his time in many organizations including the Jaycees, Lions Club, Little League, Heritage Square, Habitat for Humanity and multiple Churches. He was loved and admired by all, and will truly be missed. His memory will be cherished by his wife; Sandra Salwasser, children; Mark Salwasser, Diane Wheatley, Kris Salwasser, Sherry Boudot, and D.J. Uloth, brother; James Salwasser, sister; Connie Griffin, and 9 grandchildren, all Tri-City area residents. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Road, Saginaw, MI 48603. Pastor Jim Neuman officiating. Friends may call on Thursday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the McIntyre Funeral Chapel, 500 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, MI 48602 and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until service.
