Rosas, Joel, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Monday, March 8, 2010, at Covenant Cooper.  Age 74 years.  The son of the late Juan and Petra (Varlea) Rosas was born June 22, 1935, in San Marcos, Texas.  He married Penny Lea Bartels, October 5, 1968. She survives him.  He was employed by General Motors (Delphi) retiring in 1997 with thirty years of service. He served with the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed cars, golf, bowling, his lawn and flower garden and most of all his grandchildren.  Surviving besides his wife, Penny, are a son, a daughter and their spouses, Jeffrey and Carey Rosas, Saginaw; Jennifer and David Goretcki, Linwood, MI; ten grandchildren, Kayla Marie, Allyssa Malaina, Anissa Monique, Dedrianna Christine, David Christopher Jr., Jonathan Alexander, Shayla Cierra, Paige MaKenzee, Justin Lee, Julia Alena; three brothers and two sisters, Juan (John) Jr., Daniel and David Rosas; Fela Garza, Margaret  Riggs; his step-mother, Albesa Rosas; a step-sister, Eva O’Dell; a step-brother, Samuel Garcia; his special friend and Mother-in-law, Elsie J. Bartels and Sammy and Tigger; his sisters-in-law, Patricia DeVeaux, Marsha Langford, Linda Ahleman, Candy Illikman,  special niece and nephews, Christine Pettit, Danny and Donald  Langford,  many other nieces and nephews. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road.  Rev. Brenda Nolish will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery with military services under the auspices of V.F.W. Post # 1566. Friends may call at the Funeral Chapel from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of the funeral service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the A.R.C.
