Passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010, while vacationing in Hawaii.  Donald was born December 9, 1946, in Saginaw, MI to the late Duncan and Grace (Hammond) Reid. He served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force Reserves in the 927 Civil Engineer SQD from July of 1986 until April of 2005. He worked as a supervisor for the City of Saginaw, retiring in 2002. He currently held the position of park ranger at the Kiwanis Camp in Frankenmuth. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and playing golf with his friends. He was such a great cook. Friends and family looked forward to his grilling skills. He had a great sense of humor always laughing and making light of a bad situation. He was a very generous and thoughtful man.  He leaves behind one son who he was very proud of, Matthew J. Reid; sister, Nancy (Jerome) Swantek; niece, Jennifer (Scott) Swantek Brady; nephew, Spencer Brady; special aunt, Ruth Hunt; cousins, Hazel Moore, Eleanor (Brad) Hanson and Carolyn Wilinski; and many friends who will remember the good times they spent with him.  Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2010, at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Matt Schramm will officiate with burial to follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Way of Saginaw County or to the Gift of Life.
