Loving husband passed away Sunday July 18, 2010 at his home. Age 93 years. Son of the late John and Hedwig (Grzesiak) Pochopien, Chester was born November 10, 1916 in Flint, Michigan. He attained a degree in Business Education from the University of Michigan and a degree in Bank Accounting from Davenport University. Chester married Tassie Sieminkiewicz his loving wife of 61 years on May 28, 1949. She survives him. He was the Club Manager at the Saginaw Club for 42 years. Chester was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and its Finance Committee, Saginaw Club, YMCA Fellowship Club, Knights of Columbus Council #4232, Pulaski Club, Brothers of Koscuiszko and Falcons Club. He was a volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Bank, St. Mary’s Hospital and enjoyed playing cards and especially being with people. Surviving besides his wife Tassie are a sister-in-law, Norma Pochopien, Arizona; many nieces and nephews. Chester was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Helen Sienko, Wanda Kosinski, Ted and Joseph Pochopien. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Joseph Schabel and Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty) where the family will be present on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at St. Casimir Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Thursday and a Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
