Peterson, James Lewis, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 at his home, age 69 years. James was born in Edmore, Michigan February 16, 1941 the son of the late William and Mildred Louise (Smith) Peterson. Jim worked for General Motors Steering Gear for 30 years. After retirement he enjoyed working in his yard and helping others with their yard work. He enjoyed playing dominoes and loved his two Dobermans. Jim is survived by four children, Jeffrey (Catherine) Peterson, Kristi (Rodney) Vollmer, Steven Peterson and Scott (Gina) Peterson; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his former wife, Mildred (Katie) Surprenant; four siblings, Robert (Margaret) Peterson, William (Joyce) Peterson, Patricia (Bob) Weick and David (Joyce) Peterson; many nieces and nephews and many close friends at Maple Garden. He was predeceased by two daughters, Stacey Lynn Peterson and Tina Marie Peterson; two sisters, Donna Fritzler and Shirley Batrow. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Douglas Kahl will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
