Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 at home. Age 95 years. Son of the late George and Mary (Oranich) Perich, Michael was born March 11, 1915 in Portage, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mike married Lillian Lecznar on September 14, 1940. She predeceased him September 14, 2001. Mike was employed at Canada Dry as a truck driver. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Mike attended the Eleanor Frank Senior Center and enjoyed playing cards with his friends. Surviving are one son, one daughter and their spouses, William (Terry Lee) Perich, Carbondale, Colorado; Deanna (Donald) Popielarz, Saginaw; a son-in-law, Anthony Caputo, Shelby Township; seven grandchildren, Michele Peebles, Jeffrey Kozel, Bradley (Chris) Kozel, Danielle Popielarz, Michael Popielarz, Matthew Popielarz and Joseph Popielarz; six great-grandchildren, Heather, Ryan and Nicholas Peebles, Brianna, Ashleigh, and Andrew Kozel; one sister, Helen (Bill) Placek, Belleville, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Caputo; two brothers, Peter and George Perich; three sisters, Ann Kane, Dorothy Raptosh and Mary Yurochko. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. His nephew, Fr. Joseph Raptosh and Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty) where the family will be present on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
