Passed away on December 26, 2010. Age 92 years. The son of the late Charles F. and Henrietta (Kaiser) Peckover was born Feb 10, 1918 in Saginaw. He was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, and the University of Michigan Law School. He married Janet Bourque of Toledo, Ohio on July 14, 1942, and they shared 65 years before her death on December 1, 2007. He served as a captain in the US Army during WWII where he earned a Bronze Star and the Oak Leaf Cluster. After the war he joined the family business - the Saginaw Abstract Company. Then in 1957 Martin joined Michigan National as Vice President and head of the Trust Department in the Saginaw Office. Martin was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served on the board of trustees. He was a member of the Rotary Club and served as chairman of the American Red Cross. He belonged to the Saginaw County Bar Association, the Michigan State Bar Association, the Saginaw Country Club, the Saginaw Club, and the United Way of Saginaw. Surviving are 2 daughters, Nancy J. Blair (Gerald) of St. George, Utah, Martha A. Mitola (Dan) of Fernandina Beach, Florida; brother, William W. (Alice) Peckover of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Steven (Jane) Blair of Portland, Oregon, Thomas (Erika) Blair of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kristian (Angela) Fisher of Chandler, Arizona, Stephen (Amy) Fisher of Evergreen, Colorado, Justin (Jennifer) Fisher of Newport, Rhode Island; and 8 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one sister and one brother. Martin and his family treasure their friendships with the residents and staff of McBrite Manor, and a special thanks to the staff of The Cartwright Hospice Residence for their caring support during his last weeks. Martin's wishes were that a private family service be held.
