Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Covenant - Cooper. Age 71 years. He was born March 22, 1939, in Saginaw. He graduated from Arthur Hill Technical School in 1956 and proudly joined the US Navy upon graduation, serving for four years. He had been employed by Eaton Manufacturing for over 30 years. He attended Countryside Presbyterian Church. Grant was a very patriotic man. He was an avid golfer, bowler and keeper of the remote control. He loved to tell jokes. He married Mary Ann Roenicke on January 30, 1965; she survives him. He also leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, Chad Allen and Karla Parker, Brent Eric and Beth Parker, and four grandchildren, Danielle, Victoria, Clayton and Ethan, all of Saginaw. He also leaves many friends who were like family to him. He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar C. Parker, his mother and stepfather, Beatrice R. (Hall) and Arthur Rooker, and two sisters, Carole Newman and Donna Shrock. Visitation will be at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2010, and then on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service, which will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Rev. Kenneth R. Parker will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be under the auspices of the Carrollton VFW Post #1859.
