Packard, Betty Jane, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010. Age 92 years. The daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Hodges) Keeler, Betty was born December 9, 1917 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Roy J. Packard on October 12, 1940. He predeceased her April 6, 1993. Betty was a member of St. Mary Cathedral, its senior group and Knights of Columbus Council #4232 Auxiliary. She was employed at Michigan Bell Telephone for five years and at the Homemakers Shop in Green Acres Plaza until her retirement in 1980. Betty enjoyed dressing up and going out with family and friends, Tiger baseball, word searches, Jig-saw puzzles and playing cards. Surviving are three sons, two daughters and their spouses, Larry and Kitty Packard, Saginaw; Richard Packard, Delton, Michigan; Marilyn Leet, Saginaw; Ronald Packard, Oregon; Kathleen and Kirk Cronin, Saginaw; eight grandchildren, Jill (Steve) Markey, Christopher (Amy) Packard, Jennifer (Brian) Chisolm, Stephanie Packard, Nicholas Packard, Michael Brothers, Elizabeth (Joe) Kurtenbach and Lindsay Brothers; six great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Luke, Katie, Jordan, Sam and Jack; Joseph Clous, loving friend and dear companion and his children, Mary, Fred, Randy and Donna; several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Zimmerman, Lillian Boergert and Priscilla Koski. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at St. Mary Cathedral. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at St. Mary Cathedral on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 Ladies Auxiliary will pray the Rosary 3:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
