Oczepek, Edward F., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at his home. Age 87 years. Son of the late Frank and Louise (Kostrzewa) Oczepek, Edward was born January 29, 1923 in Saginaw, Michigan. Edward served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII and a member of V.F.W. #1859. He married Geraldine Klenoski, his loving wife of 63 years, on November 30, 1946. She survives him. Edward was employed at Chevrolet Parts Plant for 35 years. He was a member of St. Josaphat Catholic Church and an usher at the church. Edward enjoyed gardening, bowling, golfing and traveling especially to Rome and Hawaii. Surviving besides his wife Geraldine are one daughter, one son and their spouses, Diana and Dale Brasseur, Royal Oak; John and Susan Oczepek, Saginaw; three granddaughters, Erin and John Dolbee, Jennifer and Randy Miller, Amy and Ed Vancise; four great-grandchildren, Clarissa, Natalie, Hannah and Patrick; two sisters, Annie and Irl Carrier, Dolores Clemens; several nieces and nephews. Edward was preceded in death by two great- grandchildren, Lauren and Emma; two sisters and four brothers, Helen, Mary, Stanley, Walter, Carl and Joseph. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2010 at St. Josaphat Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at St. Josaphat Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
