Norton, Ruth G., St. Charles , Michigan

Barbara P. Frost

Our beloved sister and aunt went to her heavenly home on January 31, 2010, at Union Court Assisted Living.  Ruth Grace Stroebel was born December 4, 1930, in Saginaw to the late Walter and Ada (Smith) Stroebel. She attended school in Saginaw County. In her youth she was involved in 4-H and the showing of her livestock at the Saginaw County Fair. She married George A. Norton in 1970 and he predeceased her in 1988. She worked for Saginaw Furniture and then later on for Saginaw Malleable Iron where she retired after many years of service. She enjoyed traveling and went to Hawaii with her friend Joyce. She also enjoyed working on her flower garden, raising poodle puppies and deer hunting with her late husband at their cabin in St. Helen, MI. She was of the Catholic faith.  She is survived by her sisters Helen Sieggreen and Carol (Alberto) Gonzalez; special friend Jerry Spiker; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Morris, Carlie and George Stroebel. The family would like to thank the staff at Union Court Assisted Living Home for the loving and gentle care of Ruth. She will be greatly missed by the staff and residents. May God’s blessings be with you all.  Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2010, at W.L. Case & Company, 201 N. Miller Road. Rev.
