Loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Saginaw Senior Care and Rehab Center after a lengthy illness.  She was 84 years old.  Elvira Yglesias was born in Musquiz, Coahuila, Mexico on May 2, 1926 to Eliseo and Elvira (Gutierrez) Yglesias.  She was the eldest of seven children.  Vera married Louis Canales Nevarez in Uvalde, Texas on June 30, 1946.  They moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1949. Vera was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church for many years.  She had a passion for cooking for her family, gardening, sewing and shopping for shoes and purses.  Vera is survived by her husband, Louis; one son and three daughters: Louis Y. (Ginny) Nevarez, Sue (Will) McNinch, Marilyn (Tony) Deisler and Dorothy (Nevarez) Alvarado all residing in Saginaw; grandchildren: Rudy Worthington II, Deanna Denson, Jason Nevarez, Kira Alese Deisler, Anton Deisler III, Adam Alvarado, Demitric Alvarado, Daniel Alvarado, Mariah Alvarado; six great-grandchildren; three sisters: Henrietta Nevarez of Tuscon AZ, Irma Zamora of Austin TX, Elida Benavides of Corpus Christi TX; two brothers, Joe Yglesias of Garden Grove CA and Alvaro Yglesias of Lake Havasu AZ and many loving nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Armando; granddaughter, Adrianna Alvarado; son-in-law, John Alvarado; great-grandson, Ashton Worthington. We would like to thank her many good friends and neighbors for all their kind hearted deeds over the years. These good friends helped carry her through her most recent difficult times. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Saginaw Senior Care Center, Hospice and a special thanks to her caring physician, Dr. Minoo Khetarpal.  Elvira’s Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, September 3, 2010 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2445 N. Charles St. Rev. Fr. Emmett Marceau will officiate.  Private burial will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road, on Thursday, September 2, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  There will be no visitation prior to Mass on Friday at the church.  In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Helen Catholic Church.  Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home, church or through
