Nauer, Iris J., Grand Rapids, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010. Age 83 years. The daughter of the late George and Veronica (Krawczak) Jozwiak, Iris was born April 2, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Leo Nauer Jr., her loving husband of 55 years, on August 7, 1954. He survives her. Iris graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1944 and later Saginaw Business Institute. She was employed at Saginaw Chevrolet Grey Iron as a personnel secretary for over 12 years. Iris was a former member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Saginaw and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Caledonia, Michigan, the League of Catholic Women, Germania Town & Country Club and St. Mary’s Medical Center Auxiliary. Surviving besides her husband Leo are one son, one daughter and their spouses, Richard and Kathleen Nauer, Birmingham, Michigan; Jacqueline and Guy Yondo, Caledonia, Michigan; four grandchildren, Jonathan and Christopher Nauer, Chelsea and Hailey Yondo; and a brother, Rev. Fr. Richard E. Jozwiak, Saginaw. Iris was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Jozwiak. Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2010 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Iris’ brother, Rev. Fr. Richard E. Jozwiak will officiate with entombment in St. Andrew Mausoleum. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. There will be a Vigil Service 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
