Nancarrow, Robert, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away peacefully Saturday September 18th, 2010 at the Aleda Lutz V.A. Medical Center in Saginaw. Robert was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on March 12, 1920 to Lloyd and Gladys Nancarrow. He married Barbara Beecher of Birmingham, Michigan on October 23, 1923, and together, they celebrated 65 years of marriage. He was a W.W.II Navy Pilot and a Lieutenant Commander on the USS Guadalcanal (CVE-60). A devoted and loving husband and father, he enjoyed golf, especially the day he shot a hole-in-one, and he enjoyed playing the piano for Barbara. Robert is survived by his son, Robert Beecher and wife, Lee; son, William Stanley and wife, Paula; daughter, Christine and husband, David Zwang; daughter, Patricia N. Tergerson; and daughter, Carolyn and husband, Dan Krueger; fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Doris. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; their eldest daughter, Judith; his brothers, Stanley and William. A memorial service for family and friends will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Case Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road in Saginaw, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. on Saturday until the time of service. Chaplain Alfonso Todd will officiate. Donations may be made to the Stroke Foundation, Prostrate Cancer Foundation or Veteran’s of America.
