Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 89 years. Son of the late John and Anna (Gaudreau) Manning, John was born April 20, 1920 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Eleanor Orzehowski, his loving wife of 62 years on August 23, 1947. She survives him. Jack was employed by Consumers Power Company for 32 years. He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Jack was a lifetime member of the Elks and very active in Saginaw Township South Little League Baseball. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh and smile. Surviving besides his wife Eleanor are one son and daughter, Gary J. and his wife Susan J. Manning, Saginaw; Marcia M. Stein, Troy; four grandchildren, Michael J. Stein, Chicago; Amy M. Stein, Troy; Julie M. (Brian) Distler, Cleveland, Ohio; Kevin J. Manning, Saginaw; his brother, George (Justine) Manning, Surprise, Arizona; his sister, Grace (Al) Spindler, Freeland; several nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Gary H. Stein; his brothers, William (Duff), Lawrence, Louis and Gene Manning and his sister, Mary Louise Manning. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty) where the family will be present on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
