Went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 4, 2010, at the age of 90 years. Mirdza Livins was born February 16, 1920 in Latvia. She married Rev. Arnolds Mangulis there in July of 1940, moving to the United States in 1950. She had been employed by the Saginaw Board of Education, working at North School. She was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed sewing, and loved being with her grandchildren. Her husband, Arnolds, predeceased her on March 26, 1978. Surviving are two daughters, Valda Mangulis, and Gaida and her husband Daniel Mannion, all of Saginaw; three grandchildren, Paul, Fay and Mark Mannion; one brother, Valdis Livins, New York; one nephew, Peters Livins and his son Alex, Washington State. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, where her family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service. Pastor Jeff Bonn will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
