Passed away early Monday, June 29, 2010, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Age 78 years. He was born April 30, 1932, in Saginaw, the son of the late Laura (Kelley) and Edward MacRae, Sr. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1950. He received his Bachelor’s Degree LSA from the University of Michigan in 1954 and then his MBA in 1966. He served with the US Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1953 until 1956. He had been employed by Dow Chemical Company, retiring in 1985 after 30 years of service. He was an avid fan of U of M football. He was a member of First Congregational Church. He enjoyed traveling and spending time at his cottage up north. He married Nancy Remer on August 28, 1954; she survives him. He also leaves three daughters, Linda A. MacRae, Sacramento, California; Laurie B. (Mike) Andrews, Gaylord, Michigan; Sarah E. (Richard) Madonna, Waters, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Taline, Ani, Tamar and Nora Kuyumjian, California; Jacob, Alice and Elizabeth Madonna and Jenna Andrews, all of Michigan; one brother, Barry (Joanne) MacRae, Clinton, Michigan; a niece Kelley (Brian) Murphy and nephew Duncan MacRae. He was predeceased by a sister, Pam MacRae in 2003. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, where his family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate.
