Beloved father and grandfather passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Covenant HealthCare Cooper Campus. Age 77 years. Son of the late John E. and Cecelia (Kingham) Luth, John was born December 10, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart. John married Joan J. Schardt in 1963. She predeceased him February 15, 2008. He was employed at G.M. Delphi for 30 years retiring in 1988. John enjoyed woodworking, fishing, playing cards, Casino’s and especially his family. Surviving are five sons and their spouses, John H. and Jennifer Luth, Saginaw; Jeff and Lisa Luth, Saginaw; Dale Luth, Dowagiac, Michigan; Jim Luth and his fiancée Cheryl Maxwell, Caseville; David and Sandy Luth, Saginaw; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet and Dave Nikolai, Freeland; one brother, Charles and Sophie Luth, Saginaw; many nieces and nephews. John was preceded by two grandsons, Matthew and Jason Luth and a daughter-in-law, Lucia Luth. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2010 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Chaplain Karl Shimada will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery with Military Services conducted by American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Sunday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
