Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Thursday, September 9, 2010 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Age 82 years. The son of the late George and Caroline (Simmer) Lowe, Tom was born December 26, 1927 in Lansing, Michigan. He married Joanne Bourcier, his loving wife of 59 years, on December 30, 1950. She survives him. Tom served in the U.S. Army during WW II in Japan. He began his career in food service at Home Dairy and retired from management at Giant Food Service in Saginaw. Tom was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and a founding member of Knights of Columbus Council #4232. He enjoyed carving and was active in the carving of the horses at the Children’s Zoo in Saginaw. Surviving besides his wife Joanne are two sons and their spouses, Thomas and Julia Lowe, Saginaw; Robert and Diane Lowe, Chicago, Illinois; four grandsons, Thomas Lowe and his wife Amanda, Michael, Ryan and Bradley Lowe; one great-granddaughter, Madeline Lowe; two sisters and three brothers, Jean and Don Paajanen, Lola and Bud Hileman, Gerald and Chris Lowe, Don and Kathleen Lowe, Dale and Pat Lowe; a sister-in-law, Joan Lowe; many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by an infant brother, Edward Lowe, and by a brother, Stanley Lowe. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2010 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate with interment in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
