Loessel, Barbara Jane (Suerté), Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at HealthSource of Saginaw; she was 87 years old. Barbara Jane Sprunger was born on February 19, 1923 in Clare, Michigan, to the late Leo and Lillian (O’Connor) Sprunger. She married John E. Loessel, Jr. on February 23, 1946 in Saginaw; he preceded her in death on February 21, 1996. Barbara was employed by Chevrolet as a Payroll Clerk for many years during World War II. Following her employment, Barbara began raising her family, and absolutely loved being with them. Barbara’s legacy was to be remembered for all the good deeds she’s done throughout her life. She was a life long and passionate volunteer for St. Mary’s Hospital, Meals on Wheels, March of Dimes and many Cancer Society drives. Barbara was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed football, basketball and golf. Surviving are two sons: John Leo (Mary) Loessel, David B. Loessel and former daughter-in-law, Barbara G. Loessel; a daughter: Susan Kay Loessel and Timothy Barrigar; grandchildren: Melissa (Bruce) Freshcorn, Jennifer (Sean) Ryan, Colleen (Jeff) Konieczka, Kathryn (Scott) Csutora, Kerry Loessel and her fiancé Greg Kusowski, John Leo Loessel, Blair R. (Bobbi) Loessel, and Brandon C. Loessel and his fiancée, Brooke Davison: great grandchildren: Caitlyn and Brady Ryan, Hailey Freshcorn, Aubrie Konieczka, Ethan Csutora, Hayden and Addyson Loessel and Tayler MacDonald; a sister, Catherine Sprunger Zeder; nephews: Jay (Dixie) Zeder, Kim (Lisa) Zeder, and Michael Loessel; her special friends: Mary Ellen Siegreen and Fran Prueter; and a adopted son, Vincent Vasquez. Barbara was preceded in death by brothers-in-law: Warren (Mary) Loessel and Daniel Zeder. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the Deisler Funeral Home. Rev. Fr. William R. Taylor will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State) on Monday, April 26, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
