Passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at his home. He was 65 years of age. Valdo Limon was born on September 16, 1945 in Saginaw, MI to the late Valdo and Antonia (Cruz) Limon. He was married to Barbara Gulczinski on April 22, 2003. She survives him. Val had been employed with General Motors at Nodular Iron. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and taking his dog, Storm, for car rides. Surviving besides his wife Barbara are four daughters: Sylvia (Jesse) Valdez, Cynthia Limon, Sophia (Abelardo) Guzman and Angela Limon; step-daughter, Beverly (Alex) Demeter; step-son, Brandon Brashaw; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four sisters and a brother: Virginia Mendoza, Robert (Tammy) Limon, Frances Limon, Rosanne (Michael) Limon-Dzingleski and Rita Limon; and many nieces and nephews. Val was preceded in death by five brothers: John, Joseph, Alexander, Daniel, and Raymond Limon. Valdo’s Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 902 N. Sixth Ave. Rev. Fr. Thomas Schmied OFMCap will officiate, with burial to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with Val’s family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State) on Monday, October 25, 2010 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 2010. Valdo will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Limon Family Discretionary Fund.
