Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully Saturday, September 4, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. Age 67 years. He fought cancer with strong faith. The son of the late John C. and Helene (Bremer) Leachman, John was born September 28, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Patricia E. Biskup, his loving wife of 47 years, on October 5, 1963. She survives him. John served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 4½ years from 1962-1966. He was employed at Saginaw Steering Gear for 32½ years until his retirement in 1998. During those years, he became involved with the U.A.W., a committeeman and board member. Surviving besides his wife Patricia are three sons, Christopher J. Leachman and his wife Kami, Scott Leachman and April Johnson, and Chad Leachman, all of Saginaw; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Zachary, Lyndsay, Trenton, Colton, Jessica and Jacob Leachman; a great-granddaughter, Emria Leachman; one brother and three sisters, Robert (Jane) Leachman, Delores Cummings, twin sister Joan Cummings and friend, David Drake; Barbara White; brother-in-law, Ron (Sue) Biskup; mother-in-law, Loraine Biskup; several nieces and nephews; many friends including Don Thomas; John leaves a special pet dog, Molli;. John was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Leachman, and by his father-in-law, Stanley Biskup. John has left this earth but his spirit remains with us. That spirit will remain forever. His jokes and his remarks are forever in our hearts. The Lord will have a leader in heaven with a great love for all. We hope John will carry his strength over for us here on earth. We will miss you forever! Love, your family. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. David Parsch will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery where military honors will be presented by the U.S. Marine Corps. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service, led by Sister Marie Markel, I.H.M., will take place at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
