Passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010, surrounded by his family and his dear friend, Tom Cline. He was 85 years old. Jim Krohn was born on December 11, 1924, in Saginaw. He married Barbara "Bobbie" Trout on August 7, 1955. Jim was president of Seitner Brothers in Saginaw. He was active in many national, state and local charitable and educational organizations. Jim, a twice-escaped P.O.W., was a decorated WWII Veteran. Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Bobbie; three daughters: Kathy Krohn and Rich Kurnick, Suzie Krohn and John Edelman, and Barby and Andy Lieber; three grandchildren: Sarah, Annie and Jeff; three brothers: Richard, Robert, and Charles (Jeannie) Krohn. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and Schulzie. A celebration of Jim’s life will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (Off State). There will be no visitation prior to the 3:00 p.m. service. Private burial and Military Honors took place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
