Beloved mother and grandmother passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 88 years. The daughter of the late John and Lillian (MacWhinnie) Morrison, Elizabeth was born November 8, 1921 in Glasgow, Scotland, coming to the United States of American as a child. She married Henry W. Kitsch, Sr. on July 17, 1943. He predeceased her October 8, 1998. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Elizabeth loved spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling, playing cards and dancing. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Hoyt Nursing Home and Rehab Centre and the Cartwright Hospice Residence for the compassionate and loving care they gave to Elizabeth. Surviving are two sons and one daughter, John and Diane Kitsch, Orlando, Florida; Sheila and Mark Baumer, Saginaw; Henry W. (Bill) and Mandy Kitsch, Freeland; a son-in-law, James Faughnan, Saginaw; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Inez Morrison, Virginia Ely Miller, who Elizabeth thought of as a daughter. Elizabeth was preceded in death by a daughter, Constance Jane Faughnan, and by a brother, George Morrison. Honoring Mrs. Kitsch’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Kathryn Snedeker will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
