Passed away early Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at Covenant - Cooper, at the age of 74 years. He was born May 20, 1936, in Detroit, the son of the late Clarence “Cal” and Pearl (Crevia) Kaefer. He served with the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He had worked at Ray’s Food Fair and at Vescio’s. He retired from Saginaw Township Community Schools in 1997 after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and of the Fr. Nouvel Council #4232 Knights of Columbus. He loved playing golf and going on golf trips. He enjoyed spending time with friends at Heck’s Bar. He loved his cat, Eight Ball. Surviving are his cousins, Nancy Anne Laski, Theresa Sue Crevia, Howard (Ruth) Crevia, Sr., Mary Ann Carlisle, Mary June Irons, and Nora Carlisle, and their families; special friends, Rose and Rich Henderson, Don and Mary Ann Haight, and Harold Campau, and many other dear friends. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 545 Mapleridge, Carrollton. Rev. Fr. Ronald Dombrowski will officiate. Military burial under the auspices of the Carrollton VFW Post # 1859 will be in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call at the W.L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, where a Parish Vigil Service, led by Sr. Chris Gretka, C.S.J., will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
