Juarez, Carolina, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at her home. She was 94 years old. Carolina Mendoza was born on October 25, 1915 in Schertz, Texas to the late Jose and Juvencia (Estrada) Mendoza. She was married to Eliseo Juarez on November 4, 1933 in Saginaw. He predeceased her on August 27, 1972. Carolina was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the League of Catholic Women. Her greatest joy was spending time with her great-grandson. Surviving are three sons: Louis Juarez, Benny Juarez, both of Saginaw, and Joseph (Joyce) Juarez of South Bend, Indiana; a daughter, Helen Chantaca of Saginaw; two grandchildren: Caroline Martinez and Marcos E. Martinez; three great-grandchildren: Marcos D. Martinez, Christopher Castanon, and Melissa Martinez; a brother, Edward Mendoza of New York, New York. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Carolina was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Carolina’s Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th St. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFMCap will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State) on Friday, June 11, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. there will be a Vigil Service at the funeral home. Carolina will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time her service.
