Passed away on Friday, June 11, 2010 at St. Mary’s of Michigan. Age 90 years. The son of the late Clifford B. Sr. and Mary (Billington) James was born on October 21, 1919 in Saginaw. He married Doris Hudson on January 10, 1942, she survives him. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a photographer for the Frankenmuth News and retired from the Saginaw News in 1984. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a former director of the Rotary Club and on the Human Relations Commission in Saginaw. Clifford was grateful to be able to give back to the community by teaching photography to inner-city youth. He also received several photography awards, including the annual LIFE award from the Saginaw Human Relations commission. Surviving besides his wife of 68 years, are a son Brian James, of Saginaw, granddaughter Lindsey Wilson, of Saginaw, great-grandchildren lily and Israel Wilson all of Saginaw, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Russell James, Rosemary Wruck, and Helen Warner. A memorial mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 4735 W. Michigan Ave. Fr. John Johnson will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
