Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at the age of 59 years.  Ruth B. Rodriguez was born June 11, 1950, in Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. She graduated from Bay City Central High School. A long-time member of First Assembly of God, she touched the lives of many through her charitable work with the children’s church programs and prayer groups. Her continued service to the Lord showed through her volunteer work with the Special Olympics and the YMCA youth organizations.  She was employed at Great Beginnings Christian Child Care Center. She loved spending time with children and spreading the Word of the Lord.  She is survived by her children, Connie M. Medel, Tuesday R. (Stephen) Hamilton, Miriam J. (Justin) Curtis, James G. Huerta and Mercedes L. Huerta; grandchildren, N’Gai A. Medel, Brandon, Veronica and Anthony Hamilton and Santiago C. Huerta; “granddogs”, Lulu and Rebel; siblings, Michael Garza, Margarita (Rafael) Gutierrez, Mollie (Art) Vizcarra, Martha Ward, Mary Lou Mata, Genaro Rodriguez Jr. and Noemi (Jerry) Ouellette. She was predeceased by her parents Maria (Balderas) and Bill Peterson.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at First Assembly of God 4570 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Fred Smolchuck Jr. will officiate. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
