Passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 14, 2010, surrounded by his family, after a courageous struggle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS). Age 61 years, Ray was born April 25, 1949, in Saginaw, the son of the late Harry Raymond and Grace Adella (Wood) Hollingsworth. He married Jane Bond on August 23, 1969, in Saginaw; she survives him. He was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School (’67), CMU (BS’71) and SVSU (MAT’85). He served as a teacher and coach (football, wrestling, track/field, cross country) at Freeland Community Schools (1972-87) and Arthur Hill High School (1987-2000), retiring from Arthur Hill in 2000 as Assistant Principal. Ray was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying a life-long love of nature, hunting and fishing. In his retirement, Ray and Jane built the home of their dreams on AuSable Lake, where they have resided for the past 10 years. Surviving is his loving and devoted family. Wife, Jane Katherine; son, Raymond R. Hollingsworth, his wife Jenifer and their children, Grace and Ella, Plymouth, MI; daughter, Katherine Jane DuCharme, her husband Corey and their children, Gavin, Olivia, and Claire, Torch Lake, MI; one sister, Connie Pettis, her husband Mike, St. Charles, MI, their children, son Robert Pettis and Christina and their son Harrison; daughter Michelle Moldenhauer, her husband David and their son Michael; brother, Bob Hollingsworth and his wife Diane, of Saginaw, and their children, daughter Monica VanHoorelbeke and her husband Tim; daughter Sarah Hollingsworth; very special Uncle and Aunt, Ronald and Gerry Hollingsworth. He also left several Aunts, Uncles and many cousins. Memorial service will take place at 12:00 noon Friday, June 18, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church, 121 S.
