Holdwick, Ronald J., Saginaw Township, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, brother and uncle passed away at home on Friday, July 2, 2010 with family by his side after a long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was born in Harbor Beach, Michigan on December 13, 1942 to the late Clarence and Marie (Gentner) Holdwick. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966. He then served on the Saginaw Fire Department for 22 years. Ronald married Mary Jo (Schultz) on October 12, 1968. Surviving are his wife, Mary Jo, and two children: Kevin of Saginaw and Kirsten of Madison, WI. He is also survived by five brothers and two sisters: Marilyn Kusmierek of Janesville, WI; Lloyd (Christeen) of Ann Arbor; Larry (Anita) of Sebewaing; Herbert (Jean) of Maple City; David (Vicki) of Pleasant Lake; Michael of Jackson; Janice (Jack) Hyatt of Brighton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are brother-in laws and sister-in law, John (Karen) Schultz of Brighton; Sandra Schultz, Bay City; David (Catherine) Schultz, Bay City; Richard (Michelle) of Paw Paw. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Clarence, and his father and mother-in law Edward and Leonore (McMillan) Schultz, and brother-in-law Thomas Schultz. Special thanks to the Hospice of Michigan, especially Shirley, Tracy and Bill, and to friends and family who helped out during the course of the illness. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at St. Andrew Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate with burial at St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the McIntyre Funeral Chapel, 500 N. Michigan Ave., on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and visitation at the church on July 7, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
