Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Sunday, October 3, 2010. Age 85 years. The son of the late Thomas and Gretchen (Pieson) Heise, Bob was born October 8, 1924 in Litchfield, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and received five Bronze Stars. He married Virginia Ann (Toni) Crossley on October 8, 1976. She survives him. Bob was employed at Jorgenson Steel for 36 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of Germania Town & Country Club and enjoyed playing golf and cards. Bob had shot six holes-in-one during his life. Surviving besides his wife Toni are Bob’s children, Robin and Roger Kukulski, Saginaw; Robert C. Heise, Bay City; Kenneth and Shawn Heise, Tawas; Debra and Dick Osmond, Saginaw; three grandchildren, Amanda, Sara and Garrett Heise; two step-grandchildren, Madison and Chance; one great-grandson, Connor Winchell; step-children, Kimberly Ann (Thomas) Kernohan, Ponte Vedra, Florida; Conly (Steve) Berrance, Southgate, Michigan; Mark Crossley, Petoskey; four step-grandchildren, Collin and Logan Kernohan, Carly and Molly Crossley; special cousin, James and Janet Patterson, Manhattan, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Thomas Heise. Bob’s family extends their special thanks to V.N.A. Hospice and Maple Valley Adult Foster Care Home in Freeland, especially Beth and Nancy, for the loving care they provided. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty). Dr. Robert Emrich will officiate and military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post #1859. Honoring Mr. Heise’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
