Saginaw area educator passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Hoyt Nursing Home, following a long illness at the age 86 years. Marjorie J. Troy was born October 7, 1923 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Gertrude Troy. She graduated from Saginaw High School, Class of 1941. After graduation she worked at Michigan National Bank. She married William V. Hart on September 1, 1947. He survives her. She received her BA and MA in Education from Central Michigan University and her PHD in Education Administration from Michigan State University. She worked nearly 25 years as an elementary teacher and Reading Specialist for the Saginaw Board of Education, retiring in 1989. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Marco Island Catholic Church in Florida; The Germania Town and Country Club; the Friendship Force and many more Professional Groups in Michigan and Florida. She was a voracious reader and loved to take classes, travel and sew. She stayed curious until the end. Surviving besides her husband, William, are four children, Sheila (John) Hart-Martuch; William Hart Jr. (Heide); Maureen Hart; Kevin Hart (Dr. Emmanuel Faccio); seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Donna (Edward) McKinley; two brothers-in-law, Harold McCullen, Luke (Joyce) Hart; five sisters-in-law, Mary (Carl) Doerr; Catherine (Frank) Keenan; Eleanor Hart; Alice Hart; Mary (Barney) Hart; many nieces, nephews and Godchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Virginia McCullen, Mary Kruske, and a great grandson, Adam Sheda. The funeral liturgy will take place at 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2010 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw. Rev. Randy Kelly will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday.
