Passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Cartwright Care Center after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Age 54 years. He was born April 5, 1956 in Saginaw, Ml. Randy graduated from Chesaning High School, Class of 1974. He married Katherine Darling. She predeceased him after 19 years of marriage. He later married Sharon Morris. She survives him. In 2006, Randy retired from Delphi Chassis Division. in Saginaw after 30 years of service. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Bridgeport. Randy was an avid carpenter with a passion for seeing his creations come to life in the form of his own home as well as birdhouses, garden sheds & countless other projects. He enjoyed volunteering to park cars at the Chesaning Show Boat Festival for several years and worked as a Park Ranger at the Saginaw Valley Rail Trail during the summer of 2008. He served as a volunteer firefighter with Taymouth Township for three years. Randy is survived by his wife of 12 years, Sharon (Morris) Gubbins and his children: Monica (Rome) Woolery, Peoria, AZ; Todd Gubbins, Burt, MI; and stepson Justin (Melissa) Morris, Saginaw, MI; his grandchildren: Zachary, Benjamin, Kathryn, Breanna, and Luke; his father Edwin Gubbins, Jr; his brother Edwin (Dearaine) Gubbins; his sisters: Diane Gubbins, Patti (Wayne) Baughman, and Sandra (Bill) Stroup; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Elnor Morris and his special friend, Jim McDougall. Randy was also preceded in death by his mother Doris (Katzenberger) Gubbins. Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Faith Lutheran Church, 4241 Williamson Road, Bridgeport. Rev. William W. Hessler will officiate with burial at Cook Cemetery. Friends may call at the W.L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 409 Adams St., from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and then on Tuesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
