Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2010 at her home with her family at her side. She was 78 years old. Judith Sharrard Plater was born February 12, 1932 in Saginaw to the late Edward M. and Ella (Wicz) Plater. She was married to Laurence J. Gamble on September 5, 1981; he survives her. Judy worked for Saginaw Products Corporation, and retired after many years of service. She loved her husband, spending time with her family, shopping QVC, and many craft activities including needlepoint. Judy is survived by her loving husband, Larry; a daughter, Ginger (Dave) Stack of Saginaw; three sons: Mark (Molly) Ryder of Saginaw, Jeff (Bonnie) Ryder of Aurora, IL, David Ryder and his special friend, Elizabeth Hammond of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four brothers: Gerald, Robert (Nadira), William (Cynthia), and Edward (Debbie) Plater. She is also survived by Raymond and Elizabeth Gamble of Vienna, Austria, with whom she shared a very special relationship; many nieces, nephews and extended family. Judy’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ginger Stack for her loving care and the staff of St. Mary’s 6 South ICU. A funeral service for Judy will take place at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State) Rev. Dr. Robert J. Schultz will officiate with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home on Monday, October 11, 2010 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
