Beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Friday, July 9, 2010. Age 75 years. Ron was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1935, to the late Harold and Hazel (Chapman) Ette. Ron graduated from Saginaw High School in 1953. He married Betty I. Arnst on November 6, 1954, in Saginaw. They were the last couple to be married in the old Holy Cross Lutheran Church building. They celebrated 55 years of marriage last November. She survives him. Ron was employed at Michigan Carbonic for 37 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Surviving to cherish his memory besides his wife, Betty, is his sister, Jean Stevenson, Saginaw; his three children, Connie (Terry) Chiles, Freeland; Ronald J. Ette (Cheryl Duma), Saginaw; and Stephen (Dynise) Ette, Bozeman, MT; five grandchildren, Kelly (Rob) Bureau, Stephen Ette, Shannon (Nick) Hunter, Tracy (Jeremy) Ainsworth, and Logan Ette; two great-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Megan Hunter. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2565 N. Miller Road. The Rev. Edward Meyer will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., on Monday, July 12, 2010, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., and then at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be given to VNA Hospice Partners in Caring.
