Passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital, age 74 years. Ronald was born in Saginaw County, Michigan March 3, 1936 the son of the late Alex and Frieda (Wagner) Ehrhardt. He was in the United States Marines during the Korean War, where he served in communications and as an officer’s cook. He married Joyce Clapp Combs August 25, 1973 and she survives him. Ron worked as a truck driver for 20 years for Kroger Foods. After retiring he and Joyce moved to Florida where he opened a car dealership, which he operated for 9 years. Ron loved classic cars, both driving and working on them. He enjoyed old movies, fishing, babies and animals. In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by five children, John Ehrhardt, Donald Ehrhardt, Stephanie Ehrhardt, Chris Combs and Jamie Combs; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Larry) Beadle; a brother, Den (Pat) Ehrhardt; several nieces and nephews and his constant companion, his shitzu, Mugsie. The family would like to express a special thank-you to Loretta and the staff of Select Specialty Hospital for their loving care and concern they showed to Ron during his time there. The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at W. L. Case & Company, 201 N. Miller Road. Rev. Brad Harris will officiate with burial in Richland Township Cemetery with military services under the auspices of VFW Post No. 1859, Carrollton. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
