Passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at his home. Age 90 years. The son of the late Michael J. and Minnie A. (Buchholz) Egerer was born November 18, 1919 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Betty C. Ferchau, June 29, 1946. His wife of 63 years survives him. He served with the U.S. Army during WWII in Belgium, Germany and France. He was an active member of American Legion #439, a lifetime member of D.A.V. # 4 and worked on the Saginaw County Veteran’s Memorial Plaza. He was employed by Baker Perkins, retiring in 1982 after 36 years of service. Warren was a charter member of the James Township Fire Dept., served as a James Township Trustee from 1966 thru 1982 and on the James Twp. Planning Commission. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the Polish Falcon #124. Surviving besides his wife, Betty, are a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Cindy Egerer; two grandchildren, Allison and Kevin Griffin, all of Weaverville, N.C.; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their spouses, Rodney and Elaine Ferchau; Jack and Rose Ferchau; Dale and Dorothy Ferchau; Keith and Pat Ferchau, all of Saginaw; Elaine and William Miller, Fla; Bill O’Toole, Merrill; Fran Egerer, Saginaw; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Norma O’Toole and a brother, Fred Egerer. The funeral liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road, Saginaw. Rev. David Parsch will officiate with military burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Monday where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Sr. Marie Markel I.H.M. The American Legion Post #439 followed by the James Township Fire Department will conduct a memorial at 6:30 p.m. Friends may then call at the church from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the funeral service.
