Passed away peacefully on Friday, August 20, 2010 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper. Age 83 years. Edith May Ostrom was born on April 7, 1927 to the late Thomas and Edna Ostrom. She married Clare E. Dupuis on April 6, 1946 in Saginaw, Michigan. He predeceased her on April 21, 1983. Edith was a proud homemaker. She enjoyed her flower garden, playing cards, and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edith was employed as a cook by the Carrollton Public Schools for 10 years. She was a member of the American Legion and a former member of the Washington Society. Surviving are three daughters, Maxine Marie Dupuis of Birch Run, MI, Mary Kay (Terry) Bean of East Tawas, MI, and Ruth Ann Dupuis of Kochville, MI; two grandchildren, Cameron (Gayla) Bean of Fort Drum, NY and Christine M. Bean of Perry, MI and two great-grandchildren, Emily and Emil Bean of Perry, MI. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Edith also leaves behind a companion of many years, Herman Oehring, a special friend, Helen Pigeault and her life long neighbors, Ray and Laurie Dzuba. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Clare and five brothers, Charlie, Floyd, Harold, Roy, and Ed. Following Edith’s wishes cremation has taken place. Edith’s Prayer Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State). Celebration of Edith’s life will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Deisler Funeral Home.
