Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend went to the Lord on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the age of 87. Helen Demko was born January 26, 1923 in Ford City, PA to the late Michael and Caroline (Zboran) Demko. She married Jake Domson on September 28, 1943 in Saginaw he survives her. They shared 67 years together. Helen was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, by greeting at the church, participating at church bake/rummage sales and serving at dinners. She loved bowling, baking, caring for her home, meeting with her cancer support group, and visiting with neighbors, family and friends. Those who loved and knew her will miss her joy for life. Helen is survived by her husband, Jake; and her children and their spouses: Tom (Connie) Domson of Saginaw, Judy (John) Wilson of St. Charles; three grandchildren: Kristi (Garett) Kraus, Jacob (Tara) Domson, and Curtis Wilson; two great grandchildren: Andrew and Alex Kraus; two sisters and two brothers: Carolyn Schultz, Vi (Chuck) Alever, Bill (Martha) Demko and Al (Rita) Demko. Helen was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Ken Schultz. Helen’s family would like to extend a special sincere thanks to Mike, Maria and Melissa Bilodeau, a neighborhood family, who gave comfort and care daily to Helen and Jacob. Also a thank you to Char Raifsnider for her helping hands and the friends, nieces and nephew who visited during her illness. A funeral service for Helen will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State). Rev. Michael Hahn will officiate. Private entombment will take place at Chapel Hill Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, April 8, 2010 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. also on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
