Deisler, Mary Patrice “Pat”, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at her home. She was 85 years old. Pat Harden was born on January 27, 1925, in Perrenton, Michigan, to the late Robert and Louise (Grace) Harden. She married Edward G. Deisler, Jr., on August 28, 1948, at St. Mary Cathedral in Saginaw, Michigan. Pat was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and a life member of the League of Catholic Women. She also served on the board, and was a life member of, the Children’s Free Ward Association of St. Mary’s Hospital. Pat was also a member of the Saginaw Country Club and a former member of St. Helen Catholic Church. Surviving besides her loving husband, Edward, of 61 years; are three daughters and two sons: Ann (Dennis) Rogers of Saginaw, Thomas (Lori) Deisler of Saginaw, Carol J. (Mitchell) Pelavin of Atlanta, GA, Catherine L. (Jon) Starling of Atlanta, GA, and Steven J. Deisler of Shaker Heights, OH; nine grandchildren: Carrie and Dennis Rogers, Ryan, Andrew and Jessica Deisler, Dane and Evan Pelavin, and Jon and William Starling; one sister, Ann (Don) Berlin of Kentwood, MI, three brothers; Mike (Carla) Harden of Barnstable, MA, Tom (Barb) Harden of Washington, MI, and Jack (Nancy) Harden of Thomas Township; two sister-in-laws, Mary Harden and Janet Harden both of Saginaw, MI. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by a son, Edward G. Deisler, III on July 14, 1980; one sister, Jean Dooley; and three brothers: Patrick, Robert and Richard Harden. Pat’s family will recite a prayer at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State). Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn. Rev. Fr. James G. Heller will officiate. A Private Rite of Committal will take place in St. Andrew Mausoleum. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Stephen Catholic Church or the Saginaw Community Foundation.
