Loving mother and grandmother passed away Friday, December 31, 2010 at her home with her family and hospice at her side due to Lung Cancer. Age 79 years. Daughter of the late Olin Daniel and Beatrice (Cook) Tenny, Patricia was born March 17, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan. She resided in Saginaw all her life. She graduated from Saginaw High School in 1949. On September 17, 1955 she was married to James H. Colpean. He predeceased her February 23, 1997. She is survived by three sons and their spouses, Timothy and Cathy Colpean, Lakeland, FL.; Scott and Shari Colpean, Saginaw; Craig and Kathy Colpean, Rochester Hills, MI; five grandchildren, Ryan, Nicholas, Michelle, James and Brian; three sisters, Barbara Kuschinsky, Hubbard Lake, MI; Joanne Maul, Ft. Meyers, FL.; Mary Beth Becker, Saginaw; a brother, David Tenny, Saginaw; several nieces and nephews. Patricia worked for Drs. Robert App, J.E. Manning and Joseph Gardner as an LPN until they retired. She volunteered for 12 years at the Saginaw Children’s Zoo and several years for the Alzheimer’s Association.
In 1999 Patricia was the recipient of the Women’s Honoree Award from the Saginaw County Board of Commissioners. Patricia was an active member of St. Helen’s Church. She loved spending time with her family, friends and “the Group.” Patricia always enjoyed traveling, reading, playing cards, working around her home and spending time with her beloved cat, Sammy. The Colpean family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Aunt Barb for the loving care of her sister and Hospice Advantage for the wonderful care, comfort and compassion. Honoring Mrs. Colpean’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Emmet L. Marceau will officiate. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at St. Helen Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Helen Catholic Church or Saginaw Children’s Zoo.
